Kerro's Crusade Day Journal

Day 8, October 19
Capel - Bussleton

Earliest start after a fabulous self-cooked breakfast.  A bit fry up coordinated by Ross and Harry was needed to get us fuelled up for our walk.

Another day of footstep after footstep to get us to our destination.

Kerro is certainly a strong motivation for us at this point.

Core walkers only today.  We certainly now that we’re in the country as we were woken by a rooster crowing.

We finished today with a walk through the main street of Busselton to BankWest to collect another cheque – thank you!

A recovery session was held by the main jetty.

Big rush to glam u (well at least tidy up) before a huge night at the Esplanade Hotel courtesy of Lance and Glenys White.

Geoff Trott from EFFC hosted a panel of Ken Judge, Kim Hughes, Colin “Funky” Miller, Ross Glendinning and Shane Woewodin.  The little Woe’eys entertained us also!

The night was fabulous fun with Kim Hughes having the crowd rolling in the aisles with laughter.

All of this paid off with a whopping $9,000 raised in the auction and silent auction, raffle money etc., taking us well over $13,000.

Once again another enormous thanks to the Apexians – they have been totally amazing.

Kerro’s medal went to Annette Judge for her cheerful and uncomplaining nature especially after suffering prickles on her journeys to the bush!

The Downlow medal was awarded to Warren Groves for getting lost in the Transit Bus and not being there to collect the walkers!
